As a real estate professional I deal with the home buying process every day. And every single buyer wants to buy that "perfect" house!  And they should...it will more than likely be their biggest expense of their lifetime.

The process of buying that perfect house can be easy or quite difficult.  It becomes difficult when you start "doing it on your own".  Many times buyers do not  want a "pushy" salesperson breathing down their back while they are shopping for a home.....so buyers try the process "on their own."

The difficult part comes when you "find" a house you like (on the internet for example) and you and your family take a drive over to "check out" the neighborhood etc only to find out the house has already been sold! It may even have been taken off the market.  So you start all over again (on your own), but this time you look at the local real estate magazine.  You find a few homes that look interesting and make some phone calls to different real estate offices only to find out they never call you back or when when you do finally call you back both of you have to try to remember "which house" you actually called about 3 days ago? Or perhaps that great house with great pictures turns out to be withdrawn from the market.  For those of you who have done this before .....this sounds "very" familiar correct?  :-)

Enough of the drama...here is how to make the American dream EASY!
  1. Get pre-qualified with a reputable lender
  2. Do your homework and find a GOOD buyer's agent!
Having a good agent to help you in the process will make a world of difference!  Like any other profession we have our bad apples as well that give us professionals a bad wrap.  Finding a good agent is the same as finding a good dentist. Ask around!  Look who is actually "active" in the market place.  There is nothing worse than hiring an agent that can make the process even worse!

Finding a reliable agent who actually "calls you back" in a timely manner is of great importance. If you prefer email or text let your agent know up front so both of you have the same expectation.

The above steps will help you find the perfect house easily and effortlessly!

Look out for my next blog on how I can show you how to buy a house in one day!  (Yes one day not weeks and weeks of looking!)
